Welcome! My name is Iulia Dragomir, and I am a Romanian medical doctor currently practicing and pursuing my residency in Switzerland. My journey into the medical field has been anything but conventional, and it is this unique path that has fueled my ambition and determination to excel and make a difference.

From a young age, I exhibited a strong independent streak and an unquenchable curiosity. During high school, I was often considered the "black sheep" because I chose to spend my time studying subjects that genuinely interested me rather than conforming to traditional class structures. This self-directed learning allowed me to gain knowledge in various fields, a foundation that continues to benefit me today.

Initially, my aspirations were set on law school. I diligently prepared for the admission exam, got admitted, and was ready to embark on a legal career. However, something profound was missing. Reflecting deeply on my true passions and childhood dreams, I realized my heart belonged to medicine. Inspired by my grandmother, who was a dedicated neonatal nurse, I rekindled my childhood dream of becoming a doctor.

Entering medical school was a significant challenge. After three years of relentless effort and determination, I was finally accepted. My time at medical school was exhilarating as I immersed myself in my studies, driven by the desire to prove my high school teachers wrong and to fulfill my passion for medicine.

During my medical studies in Romania, I became acutely aware of the systemic issues plaguing the healthcare system. Witnessing these shortcomings, I resolved not to become another cog in the wheel of corruption. My commitment to providing better care for my patients led me to move to Switzerland, a decision that was not taken lightly.

Upon deciding to relocate, I undertook the challenge of learning German intensively to meet the requirements of a paid internship program in Switzerland. My hard work paid off, and I was able to integrate into the Swiss medical system, where I am now thriving as a medical resident.

Throughout my journey, I discovered that many others share my aspirations to practice medicine in Switzerland. This realization inspired me to create an Instagram account to share my experiences and insights. The overwhelming response to my account highlighted a significant need for guidance and mentorship, leading me to establish a dedicated mentorship program.

I understand firsthand the struggles and obstacles involved in moving to a new country and adapting to a new medical system. My mentorship program is designed to provide personalized guidance and support, sharing all the valuable information and lessons I have learned along the way. My goal is to help aspiring medical professionals save time, money, and avoid unnecessary setbacks on their journey to becoming successful medical residents in Switzerland.
